Emotional Intelligence

The term, “Emotional Intelligence” was coined in 1990 by John D. Mayer, a personality psychologist at the University of New Hampshire.

Much of its recent popularity is credited to the bestselling book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 written by Dr. Travis Bradberry and Jean Graves and TalentSmart, which markets itself as “the world’s leading provider of emotional intelligence…  products and services.”

Bradberry’s posts on LinkedIn are among the ones I regularly read and recommend them to you.  His wisdom is compelling and is conveyed in non-technical language, and can typically be read in 1-3 minutes.

I encourage you to check out his recent posting, “9 Things Smart People Won’t Do.”
